Amazon-owned Twitch Says it has Exposed its Source Code in the last Week's Data Oct 15, 2015 (Reuters) - Twitch, owned by Amazon.com Inc., said Friday that documents from its source code were incorporated in the data breach last week at Twitch's live streaming gaming platform. Passwords, login credentials, full credit card numbers, and bank information of users were not accessed or exposed in the breach, Twitch said in a statement. The platform, which is used by video gamers for interacting with users while live streaming content, had blamed https://www.reuters.com/technology/amazons-twitch-hit-by-data-breach-2021-10-06 the breach on an error in the server configuration change. Server configuration changes are performed during server maintenance. A wrong configuration can expose the data stored in the servers to unauthorised access. Twitch stated that it was "confident" the incident affected only a small number of users, and that it was contacting those who had been directly impacted. Game Twitch receives more that 30 million visitors every day. Game boat Video Games Chronicle reported that approximately 125 gigabytes worth of information was leaked during the breach. This included details about Twitch's highest-paid streamers since 2019.
