Using Accommodations and Individualized Education Plans for SEN students

You might wonder — how do we set high expectations for students AND help them achieve those?

In the video, we saw that “leveling it down” is not an option! So, set high expectations for all students and then, build in accommodations to help them achieve these goals. Some examples of accommodations are lap pads, spell checks, or pair work.

Apart from grade-level goals, set individual goals for each student. You can collaborate with special educators or counselors to create such Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
